My top 10 CDs of 2004
2004 is over and now that the dust has settled, here are my favorite CDs of the year:

1. Elliot Smith- From a Basement on the Hill (I listened to this record 4 or 5 times a day for two months. A fitting swan song for one of the best songwriters of our time.)
2. Brian Wilson- Smile (40 years in the making, but well worth the wait.)
3. Guided By Voices- Half Smiles of the Decomposed (The final record from the Ohio indie-rockers. “Window of my World” will make you weep then rock your socks off)
4.Paul Westerberg- Folker (Raw and rocking, another great Westerberg record).
5. Eminem- Encore (I love Eminem. His lyrics are really honest, almost confessional. Beneath the macho veneer he's really an emo-songwriter. Plus "Mosh" is the best anti-war, anti-Bush song to be penned to date)
6. Wilco- A Ghost is Born (I don't like it as much as Yankee Hotel but it's good. "Theologians" rocks.)
7. Steve Earle- The Revolution Starts Now (F**k the FCC, F**K the FBI, F**k the CIA...)
8. Green Day- American Idiot (The perfect prescription for every one who's fed up with the conservative, right-wing agenda.)
9. Jared Woods- Spilled Drinks & Starlight (Jared and I are old friends. His new record is phenomenal. Check him out at http://www.jaredwoods.com)
10. Gene Owens- Fugitive Moments (I know it's arrogant as hell to put my own record on here but screw it I'm really proud of it. Check out song clips on the sounds page or at

Go see "Fahrenheit 9/11"!!!!!!
Before you go to the movies to see another mindless, summer blockbuster do yourself a favor and go see Michael Moore's new film, "Fahrenheit 9/11" and the new documentary "The Corporation". I promise, you will leave the theatre feeling more effected and fullfilled then by seeing "White Chicks". For more info on "Fahrenheit 9/11" and
"The Corporation" visit

God damn the U.S. for it's vile conduct in Iraq.
As much as Big Brother Bush would like us to believe,
war is not peace,
slavery is not freedom,
ignorance is not strength.
